Prepare the Batter
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. If the batter is too thick, add milk to reach desired consistency.
Bake the Cakes
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before serving.
